Pinilla and Chumba, two young fishermen from El Amparo, a town on the banks of the Arauca River – on the border with Colombia, are called for a job along with 14 other men, but they are attacked and only the two of them survive. They are then accused of being guerrillas by the army, but when they come to arrest them, they are defended by the townspeople who believe in their innocence.
